Echo Chamber on Mac
A menu-bar app that offers to record your video calls and captures system audio.
On a Mac, Echo Chamber lives in your menu bar and is built for calls. When you join a meeting, it can offer to record, capturing both what you say and what you hear.
Apps it can detect
- Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
- Slack and Discord calls.
- FaceTime and Webex.
- 1
Join a call as usual
Start or join a meeting in one of the supported apps.
- 2
Accept the offer to record
Echo Chamber notices the call and asks if you want to record it.
- 3
Choose per-app behavior
Set each app to always record, ask first, or never, so it fits how you work.
On Mac, Echo Chamber can capture system audio along with your microphone using ScreenCaptureKit, which is why it can transcribe everyone on the call. This needs Screen Recording permission, requested in context.
The Mac app is designed for low CPU use, so it can sit in your menu bar and watch for calls without weighing your machine down.
