Why a word is wrong, and how to improve accuracy

No speech recognizer is flawless. Names, acronyms, overlapping voices, accents, and background noise are common sources of mistakes. Listen back to uncertain passages and correct the transcript before using it as a quotation or record.

• Record closer to the speaker and away from noisy machines.
• Check names, numbers, and technical terms against the original audio.
• Add specialized terms to Custom Vocabulary so they transcribe correctly.
• Edit any word inline, and the fix stays with the recording and its exports.
• For imported files, start with the clearest source audio you have.
