Troubleshooting
Why a word is wrong, and how to improve accuracy
Practical ways to get cleaner transcripts and fix the words that slip through.
Parakeet TDT is highly capable, but no speech recognizer is flawless. Names, acronyms, crosstalk, accents, and background noise are common reasons a word comes out wrong. Echo Chamber applies a targeted, speech-focused filter before transcription, and the complete enhanced pipeline has produced an internal observed word error rate of approximately 4.5% under tested conditions. Your result can vary with the recording.
- Record closer to the speaker and away from noisy machines.
- Use Echo Chamber's speech-focused enhancement to prepare the audio for transcription. It is deliberately different from generic normalization.
- Add specialized terms to Custom Vocabulary so they transcribe correctly.
- Edit any word inline, and the fix stays with the recording and its exports.
- For imported files, start with the clearest source audio you have.
