Syncing & your devices

Turn on iCloud sync, and what it means

Sync recordings across your devices with end-to-end encrypted iCloud, off by default.

Updated 2026-06-14

By default, your recordings live only on the device that made them. If you want them on all your devices, you can turn on iCloud sync, and it is built to keep your audio private.

  1. 1

    Open Settings

Find the sync section in the app's settings.

  2. 2

    Turn on iCloud sync

Enable it to start keeping recordings consistent across your devices.

  3. 3

    Let it catch up

Your recordings sync in the background. Newly recorded ones sync as you go.

How sync protects your audio

Audio is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it syncs. The encryption key lives in your iCloud Keychain, everything stays inside your own iCloud account, and the developer has no servers and cannot read it.

Sync is a Pro feature

iCloud sync is off by default. Unlimited encrypted iCloud sync is part of Echo Chamber Pro.
