TROVE

The record that matters should belong to you.

Trove creates the private record you will wish you had before a claim, move, warranty issue, or replacement decision. Photograph an item or receipt, let Apple Vision read text and barcodes, and review details proposed by on-device intelligence. Items, rooms, values, photos, receipts, and warranty dates stay in a local catalog that Ask Trove can search. CSV export works in the current development build. PDF reporting, multi-home organization, and private iCloud sync remain planned as Trove moves toward release.

Why it exists

The record that matters should belong to you.

Trove makes a home inventory practical enough to build before a claim, move, warranty issue, or replacement decision. Capture evidence once, review every extracted detail, then search the private catalog when the information matters.

01 / Private workflowFrom input to useful result

No hidden data path

Useful from the first input to the final result.

  1. 01

    Capture an Item

Photograph a belonging, serial label, barcode, or receipt and keep the original evidence with the record.

  2. 02

    Review the Details

On-device extraction proposes brand, model, serial, category, and value information for confirmation or correction.

  3. 03

    Track What Matters

Organize by room or category, record warranty dates, and see value and coverage context in the dashboard.

  4. 04

    Find or Export

Ask questions of the local inventory, search system-wide, or create a portable CSV; a formatted PDF report remains planned.

What it does

Purpose-built for one private workflow.

01

Faster, Reviewable Capture

Vision OCR, barcode reading, receipt structure, and on-device extraction reduce data entry while keeping every proposed field editable.

02

Warranty and Value Context

A dashboard brings due warranties, total recorded value, rooms, and categories together without pretending estimates are appraisals.

03

Evidence You Can Take With You

Receipts, serials, search, and planned insurance-ready exports are designed to make the catalog useful beyond the app.

Privacy is architecture

A shorter data path.
A clearer privacy boundary.

The current catalog and its core intelligence are local. Items, receipts, serials, values, and warranties are user-maintained records, not appraisals or insurance coverage guarantees. Private iCloud sync and insurance-ready export are planned Plus capabilities, not release promises.

Questions worth asking.

01What should I record in a home inventory for insurance or a move?

Useful records commonly include an item photo, room, category, brand, model, serial number, purchase date, price or current estimate, receipt, and warranty details. Trove is being built to keep those fields and supporting evidence together. It organizes user-supplied records; it does not appraise property or determine insurance coverage.

02Can Trove read a receipt, barcode, or serial number from a photo?

The in-development capture flow uses Apple Vision for local OCR, barcode reading, and receipt structure, then Apple Foundation Models can propose structured item details. Every proposed field is reviewable and editable because camera quality, packaging, and model output can be imperfect.

03Does Trove upload photos of my belongings or receipts?

The current core path stores inventory records and photos locally and performs recognition on the device, with no Trove account, developer AI server, ad network, or analytics SDK. Any future private iCloud option will be described separately rather than folded into a blanket “never connects” claim.

04Will Trove still work without Apple Intelligence?

Yes. Manual cataloging, local storage, search, warranty tracking, and Vision capture remain useful, and a deterministic heuristic path can assist when Apple Intelligence is unavailable. Richer structured extraction and Ask Trove answers depend on supported Foundation Models hardware.

05Can Trove track a product warranty and show what may expire soon?

The current design stores warranty dates and surfaces warranty context in the inventory dashboard. A local notification scheduler has not been verified in the current build, so proactive expiry alerts should not be promised yet. The original receipt and manufacturer or seller terms remain the source of truth.

06Can I export my Trove inventory for an insurance claim?

CSV and PDF inventory export are planned Plus capabilities in the unreleased app. They are intended to create a portable evidence package, not guarantee that an insurer will accept a valuation or approve a claim. Final export formats and availability will be confirmed before release.
