Scan a receipt
Point your camera at a receipt and let Vault read the amount, merchant, and date.
Receipt scanning saves you typing. Vault uses your iPhone's on-device text recognition to pull the key details, then lets you confirm before saving.

Start a scan
Tap the plus button, then choose to scan a receipt. Vault asks for camera access the first time.

Frame the receipt
Hold your phone steady over the receipt so the total is clearly visible.

Review what Vault found
Vault fills in the amount, merchant, and date. Check them and fix anything that looks off.

Save
Tap save to add the expense.
Vault reads receipts using Apple's on-device Vision text recognition. The image and the text are never uploaded; nothing about the receipt leaves your iPhone.
Good lighting and a flat receipt help a lot. Faded or crumpled receipts may need a quick manual touch-up.
