Type what you spent. This is the only field you truly need.

Optionally add a merchant, date, note, or category. Vault suggests a category for you and learns as you go.

Tap save and your safe-to-spend number updates right away.
No. Vault suggests one automatically. If you skip or change it, the app quietly learns your preference for next time.
