How import actually works

Published recipe data first, the on-device model second.

Most recipe websites publish machine-readable recipe data alongside the page you read. When it is there, Mise reads it directly. No AI is involved and the result is exact.

When it is missing or malformed, which happens with blogs, social posts, and pasted text, Apple's on-device model parses it into ingredients, steps, times, and servings.

Photos come along automatically when the page provides one, downscaled on import so a recipe box does not quietly consume a gigabyte.
