Import audio and video to transcribe
Bring in existing recordings, from MP3 to MP4, and get a transcript.
You do not have to record inside Echo Chamber to transcribe with it. Import audio or video files you already have and turn them into searchable text on your device.
Common formats are supported, including MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, MP4, and MOV, so a voice memo, a downloaded recording, or a video file all work.

- 1
Open the import option
Choose to add a file from the app.
- 2
Pick your file
Select an audio or video file from Files, the share sheet, or another app.
- 3
Let it transcribe
Echo Chamber processes the file on your device and produces a transcript you can edit, summarize, and export.
A recording with clear speech usually produces a cleaner transcript. Echo Chamber applies a targeted, speech-focused pre-transcription filter to prepare the signal for Parakeet TDT. It is not a generic normalization pass, which can erase details a recognizer needs.
